Door Ding Repair In Melksham

The small round dents left by another car door, a trolley or a careless knock in a car park. We push them back out from behind the panel, so the paint is never touched.

  • Original factory finish stays on
What It Costs

What You'll Pay - No Hidden Costs

Every door ding is a slightly different job, so there is no one size fits all price on this page. What there is instead is a straight price from a photo, before anybody books anything in.

Three things decide what a ding costs to put right: how wide it is, how deep the metal has been pushed, and where on the panel it landed. A shallow ding in the open middle of a door is a quick job. The same ding sitting on a swage line, or right behind a brace where access is tight, takes longer and is priced for the extra work.

You get a fixed price before we start, and that is the price you pay. If we look at the ding and paintless will not put it right on its own, we tell you before any work begins rather than halfway through.
The Repair

What To Expect

Here is what actually happens to a door ding, in plain English rather than trade talk.

Most single door dings are finished inside a couple of hours, and the car is ready to drive straight away. There is no curing, no drying and no coming back next week to collect it.

FAQ - Door Ding Repair

Not on a sound panel. Modern paint flexes with the metal, which is what makes paintless possible in the first place. Where paint is already chipped, cracked or has been resprayed badly in the past, the risk is different and we will tell you that before starting.

There is no minimum. People bring us dings the size of a fingertip because they can see them every time they walk up to the car. If it bothers you, it is worth a photo.

Yes. Most door dings are done on your driveway or at your workplace, provided there is somewhere reasonably level to park and a bit of room to work around the door.

Paintless will take the dent out but it cannot put paint back. If there is a scratch through to primer or metal, we will still remove the dent and be straight with you about what the mark will look like afterwards.

Typically one to two hours for a single ding. Several dings down the same side of a car take longer, because each one is worked individually rather than all at once.
