The car parks around The Shires and Castle Place fill up and empty out all day, and the more times a bay changes hands the more chances there are for a door to swing into the car alongside it.
The terraced streets running out of the centre are the other half of it. Where a house has no driveway the car lives on the road, nose to tail, often on a road narrow enough that everything passing has to squeeze by.
